LONG DISTANCE CARGO DRONE NETWORK SPONSOR INFORMATION

DRONEQ DRONE DELIVERY

DroneQ is at the forefront of innovation in transporting goods using specialized drones. DroneQ has the knowledge, expertise and experience to embed Drone Delivery processes in operational processes and thereby integrate them into end-to-end Supply Chain processes of organizations!

Drone Deliveries include operations on land, in ports, to Offshore Oil, Gas & Wind installations and to ships and is aimed at transporting high priority-high value goods such as spare parts, tools and measuring instruments, documents, oil, fuel and cargo samples, medicines and other supplies by drone.

Drone Logistics supports optimizing the operational process, reducing the CO2 footprint, achieving a cost reduction, increasing safety and efficiency by embedding maritime unmanned vehicle technology in business processes of organizations and gradually working towards autonomy. DroneQ works with specialized logistics partners and partners in the field of laws, regulations and drone technology.

PHOENIX-WINGS

Phoenix-Wings is a young German company with the goal to develop far-reaching automated fleets of cargo drones with vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) capabilities for cargo applications. The company works with partners worldwide to jointly build drone services for local needs and applications.

Based in Munich – one of the European centres for future flight technologies – and supported by its parent company SF Express, Phoenix-Wings is taking advantage of the benefits of rapid development. With vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) capabilities, Phoenix-Wings combines their aircrafts with the wide range of a conventional unmanned aircraft with the ability to land virtually anywhere, like a multicopter drone. The experienced Phoenix-Wings team covers the complete range from unmanned aircraft design to series production, the development of subsystems and algorithms, as well as flight tests and operation. Special focus is on the core elements of a high performance Unmanned Aerial System:

  • Guidance, Navigation and Control
  • Structural and Aerodynamic Design
  • Mission and Safety

DEVELOPMENT AND TESTING

DroneQ Aerial Services and Phoenix-Wings have signed a partnership with the aim of working closely together to improve processes and procedures, further development of the UAS platform and technologies such as Autonomous Landing Guidance System, sensors, payload delivery systems, autonomy and connectivity. DroneQ and Phoenix-Wings will also work together to create a long distance cargo drone network for Offshore Energy, port areas and islands and remote locations.

Given the complexity of long-range freight transport by drone in technological areas, laws and regulations and processes and procedures, the development of the long haul cargo drone network will be characterised by close cooperation with partners in the various areas of expertise. There will be a lot of research and testing and there will be many test, demonstration and validation flights from different locations above land and above sea, using professional test methodologies. Pilots and commercial flights will also be planned and operated.

Now the capacities are at 120km range and 10kg of cargo (30 litres) but the ambitions are at capacities that are a multiple of these! A lot of innovation and development is required and DroneQ Aerial Systems and Phoenix-Wings are willing to play a leading role in turning this challenge into an efficient and effective international long distance cargo drone network!.
